is the i5 4690k good enough with out overclock?

Solution
if your using it for gaming its fine but if you want to game, video streaming, video editing, rendering, and virtualization you would be better off with an i7 that can hyper-thread also if your not going to overclock then there is no reason to get the K version of the cpu

They are all correct... the new i5 series and i5`s in general are great for gaming even at stock speeds. But if your not overclocking then the non-k is better but if the price diff is that small just go for the k-version and one day if you feel like OCing then you can! Just have the MB`s turbo Boost function on and it wi run at 4.9 if I`m not mistaken by itself...

As many people have mentioned, go with a non-k if you're not going to overclock. As for your question, the I5 4690k is perfectly fine without overclocking. My I5 4590 (which is 0.2 ghz slower), paired with a GTX 970, runs just about any game up to date fine at ultra. It will indeed game well :p
