Wondering about CPU compatibility

I'm going to be putting a A10-7850k into a MSI A88X-G43 motherboard. Do I need to worry about needing to update the BIOS or not. I've read different places that that is sometimes not the case. I was also wondering how you can tell which chipset goes with which CPU(like Axx chipset goes with or Z97 goes with...).
Any help is welcome!

Solution
The motherboard will need to be shipped with the version of BIOS that supports that processor if it will can't say.

For your 2nd question it's not the chipset it's the socket! The Z97 is socket 1150 it will only work with a 1150 socket processor. Again always go to the motherboards site to make sure it supports what your buying. The Z87 is also socket 1150 but it depends on the BIOS version if it will work with all 1150 processors.

Ok, I already knew about sockets but chipsets always confused me in their relevance. Thanks for all the help!

Chipsets are a little different take the 1150 socket chipsets. H81 not very good only PCI-E 2.0 no native 6GBs SATA support, really made to run 1333 memory although depending on processor most will run 1600 MHz.
B85 not bad more of just a plain jane board without the bells and whistles.
H97 better board will support higher MHz memory.
Z87/97 Made to overclock some offers the ability to run 2 video cards, the higher end ones have the most bells and whistles.
