How do I use Steam? (PC GAMING)

Hello All,

I recently built a gaming PC with high range hardware. (Z97XGamning3 Motherboard, g970 4GB Nvidia Graphics Card, Intel i5)

I had many reasons why i needed a good PC, but the biggest reason was for gaming. (Hence the gaming specs)

A friend of mine told me about how PC gamers differ from everyone else. Meaning cheap games, better quality graphics, MODS , and the rest.

He uses Steam, it is the first time i am using it (and using a gaming PC). He told me there are really good, high quality games & cheap. Available through "3rd party sellers" on Steam.

How do i purchase these games through Steam. But sold from other people.
I am really confused and am exited to test my gaming PC.

Anybody with any advice would be very appreciated.

you need to install the steam app http://store.steampowered.com/ (says "install steam" st the top right)

then shop the store and buy what you want. the games will download through the app and all game saves and such stay on their servers so if you reinstall, there is no worry of losing progress.

You can purchase Steam cards from Mostly game stores of add online credit using Paypal or credit card, Then purchasing from the online store using the steam client

Every year Steam has sales. For example Halloween sale/ summer sale, Christmas sale etc: Although they also .

Okay, thank you everyone. Can i play these games using my mouse and keyboard? (normal mouse and keyboard)

Or is there any extra pad or controller i should buy?

Yes you can, And You can use an XBOX 360 controller, Or purchase a controller designed for pc from you're local gaming/electronics shops

i use an xbox one wired controller as well as keyboard and mouse. think i paid $40 for the controller. works well but i would avoid wireless controllers as they are very buggy with windows for some reason.
