Well, my question is. Is this an actual windows 8.1 Pro installation, but at a lower price. Lie, can I boot my computer through this disk and install Windows 8.1 Pro or is it just an update for people who have a normal copy of Windows 7?

Like, is it like a normal install of Windows 8.1 Pro or what?

Thanks in advance :)

I believe you can generate a standalone install from that, it just has to be done from a currently running Windows 7 box of the same bit level you want to end up with. 32bitt or 64bit.

When you download and run the exe it gives you, there may be a selection for "Install later from media" This will give you an ISO, which you burn to DVD or USB.

I recently had this question. I believe you need to have Windows 7 as your OS and download windows 8 onto a flash drive and then plug it in to the new PC and install from there.
