H81M or H97M

Solution
If it is a system purely for gaming, then the H81 motherboard would be the obvious option; you should spend the bulk of the money on a GPU. There are also H81 motherboards, where it is possible to overclock the CPU (if you plan to get a K-series CPU), and so the feature set would be practically the same. In short, I would say you either buy a nice Z97 motherboard, or get the H81 motherboard, depending on whether you value the extra features of Z97.

I have an R9 270 and I don't plan on upgrading very soon, in a few months when the new R9 3xx series is released probably. I also heard that low priced MSI motherboards aren't very good with quality, is this true?

Well, any low-cost motherboard has a higher chance of something going wrong...hence the low price. But personally, I'd try to find something with Asus or Gigabyte. I don't have much experience with MSI, so I can't say for sure. I've always been stubborn about sticking with Asus or Gigabyte.
