Too much dust intake on my power supply?

Hello,

2 weeks ago i removed the dust filters on the bottom of my case (graphite 780T) because there is a cross of solid plastic on them, and was afraid that it would hinder the intake of air on my PSU. Now my PSU started making a whining noise. Could the cause be too much dust intake and a leaking capacitor, or is this just coil whine?

Solution
Make sure the tower is sitting on a hard flat surface so airflow can reach the PSU, do not put it directly on carpet or any other surface that can block airflow. A piece of plywood under the tower would be better than a carpeted floor.
That's impossible for us to say, we can't hear or see what the unit is doing, but the filters are there for a reason and are designed specifically to trap dust, not block air. Blow the filters out with an air compressor or can of compressed air and do the same for the PSU. Then reinstall the filters. If the unit continues to make abnormal noise or it gets worse, replace it.

Does it do it all the time or only after it's been on for a while. How old is the PSU?

What's the brand and model number?

I've had the PSU for about a month, it's an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2. By cleaning the PSU do you mean screwing it open?
It's not a loud noise, but it is constant. From startup to shutdown.

A one month old G2 unit couldn't possibly have accumulated enough dust to be an issue already, unless it's maybe outside or in a shop. Nor should it be making noise. I own the EXACT same unit, and it's completely silent unless I'm at a very high load. I'd RMA the unit.

I was afraid it would come to that. Yes i placed the desktop on a hard surface, airflow should be sufficient
