Solution
Your build is excellent.

Bios updates are rarely needed or recommended.
Do so only if there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Most of your time will be spent in installing and updating windows.

MY build process:

Before anything, while waiting for your parts to be delivered, download
and read, cover to cover your case and motherboard manual.
Buy a #2 magnetic tip phillips screwdriver.

1. I assemble all the parts outside of the case.
That lets me test them for functuonality easily.
A wood table or cardboard is fine.
2. Plug in only the necessary parts at first. Ram, cpu, cooler, psu.
Do not force anything. Parts fit only one way.
Attach a monitor to the integrated motherboard adapter.
3. If your motherboard does not have a...

can I show you my pc build and tell me what you think if you don't mind?

By all means, show the rest of your build.

Virtually all Z97 motherboards will come with a sufficiently updated bios; not to worry there.
Even if they don't a 4690K will still run sufficiently well to update the bios if needed, and some motherboards do not even need a cpu to do a bios update.

When you install windows, you may need a driver update to the lan chipset on the motherboard.
The internet gets you access to any other drivers you might need. For that, you might need a usb stick or a cd to read the included motherboard driver cd.
A dvd burner is only about $15 and I would include one if your case can install one.
This is likely with windows 7, but I think windows 8 will have the usual drivers available.

No Z97 motherboards will have floppy controllers anymore, they are obsolete.

3. If your motherboard does not have a PWR button, momentarily touch the two pwr front panel pins
4. Repeatedly hit F2 or DEL, and that should get you into the bios display.
5. Boot from a cd or usb stick with memtest86+ on it. memtest will exercise your ram and cpu functionality.
6. Install windows.
7. Install the motherboard cd drivers. Particularly the lan drivers so you can access the internet.
Do not select the easy install option, or you will get a bunch of utilities and trialware that you don't want. Drivers only.
7. Connect to the internet and install an antivirus program. Microsoft security essentials is free, easy, and unobtrusive.
8. Install your graphics card and update it's driver.
9. Update windows to currency.
10. Only now do I take apart what I need to and install it in the case.

what windows do you recommend

I do not like windows 8, it is ugly and oriented to touch screens.
It can be passable by using the windows classic shell app.

I like windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

I have been trying the windows 10 tech preview and don't much like it either, but it is a work in progress. It is ugly too.
