I bought this desktop a couple of years ago from pc specialist it came over clocked. It has worked perfect up until last week when a power cut ruined my ssd. I re- installed windows on my hdd and reinstalled drivers ect. However the PC kept rebooting after around five minutes saying OC has failed. I checked the bios and seen there was new one availble. I used the return to defaults on bios and used ez flash to find the rom on my hdd. EZ flash said it had been sucessfull and was reseting but did nothing for an hour so I switched off my pc and switched it back on. Now i get 00 q code, the cpu led light is on, no beep and screen stays blank . I have removed the bios battery and left it out for an hour. But nothing.
the spec is
core i7 2600k
asus p8p67 deluxe
gtx 580 8 gb ram
cpu cooled with an coolit ac

I realize I rushed into flashing bios without putting proper research into how it should be done correctly. Can I save my desktop?

Thanks for the reply I didnt even realise I could change the chip, I hope it is not the power supply I got the corsair ax 1200 because I thought it would be reliable.

jt-ireland,

I have the same issue with my Asus P8P67 Deluxe Rev 3.0 motherboard. I just want to ask, when you bought the bios chip for your motherboard, did you also provide the information of your operating system if it is Win7 32 or 64 bit OS to the seller or that doesn't matter?

Thanks!

Alexoiu,

Thanks for the reply.

Just out of curiosity, I am not familiar with the way bios chips are being programmed. But how is it when we look for a newer bios version from the manufacturer's website,we also select the right OS information apart from the motherboard?

Thanks
