Hello! ( So sorry about the spelling mistake in the title, I was a bit rushed)

I just ordered my build which is:

GTX 970
Intel core i5 4690
8GB Corsair V
H97 PRO

The overlclockable one is £5 more and I am starting to regret my order, should I cancel it? I don't plan to overclock but I have heard there is minimal differences. I will use it for gaming and I probably won't use OC in the future anyway.

Ahhhhh this is horrible :(

Solution

With the i5-4690 and a single GTX 970, not really. You won't be bottlenecking the gfx card.

as long as the mobo is of good quality its not much different, it all depends on the CPU you get and if its a good overclocker or not.
and if your planning on overclocking your gonna need a aftermarket cooler to get decent overclocks, so its not just £5

OK. Thanks. That's what I thought. Just wanted to be sure we were all on the same page ;)
I imagine Intel is selling a lot more unlocked processors since the H boards have been enabled by the manufacturers. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a plan by Intel all along.

I got the K because I might overclock in the future to keep up with SLI 970s. In the future maybe, even if I don't that it is only £5, might as well :)

But if I do overclock then I would get a aftermarket cooler with it :)
