Hello Wise Ones!

I have been trying to look into a few system emulators and was wondering if they really work or are mostly novelties. I am looking for emulators for SNES, N64, PS2, and Xbox 360 (I know the last one will probably not be possible lol) I want to be able to capture the gameplay and here are my specs

AMD FX 8320 @ 3.5 ghz
WD Black HD
14 GB DDR3 Ram
Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 3gb 384 bit 850mhz

So 1.) are there good emulators and
2.) is my computer powerful enough

Thanks a lot!

Pretty much almost all of the emulators available here are working for PC, and there are a couple of emulators that run on consoles or Androids too.

As per the systems you mentioned. I'd recommend:
- ZSNES for SNES; not perfectly accurate with all games, but still very good and extremely lightweight. Snes9x is also good, albeit unstable on some systems.
- PCSX2 for PS2; the only one I know, and the only one I'll ever use. It's pretty much good for me, although some games only run properly in software emulation mode (e.g. Project Zero in hardware mode would not show ghosts :p), and it even runs fine on my old ACER laptop with a (now) weak dual core Intel T4400 and a 512MB ATI 4650M (or something...

I recommend Higan for SNES http://byuu.org/emulation/higan/ It's much more accurate than most emulators for SNES.

PCSX2 for PS2 http://pcsx2.net/ It's probably the best PS2 emulator but far from perfect. It plays some games well.

N64, there are some but none I'd recommend.

Dolphin is really good for Gamecube and Wii https://dolphin-emu.org/

You should be able to run any of those with your system. Dolphin might need some tweaking in some Wii games.

Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4 -> None exist

ZSNES is a good Super Nintendo/Famicom emulator. I've been using it for years now and never had any issues with games running. Some games have slight issues with sound, (specifically Super Mario World), where the sound effect is slightly different than the original, but apart from that it's a pretty accurate emulator.

If you're into Sega then I recommend the Fusion emulator. It emulates Mega Drive/Genesis, Mega/Sega CD, Master System, 32X & Game Gear if I recall correctly. The sounds are very true to the originals and the visuals are excellent too. It also has netplay which I've personally used and works well.

- Project64 for N64. Inaccurate or not working on some games, but usually ok with most.
- None exist for Xbox 360, from what I know.

NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, GBA, and Gamecube all have good emulators as far as I know.

There are a few barely functional XBox emulators, but no functional XBox 360 or PS3 emulators.

the only fully speed working emulators to date or dolphin for gamecube and wii project 64 for n64 all others will lag as hell in most of the games and yes the system is strong enough for the emulator ...

BTW downloading roms for the emulator without having a legal copy is considered pirating so unless you have copies of all the games you want to play for all those consoles then this is a no go zone ..
