Need some advice/help figuring out how to capture game play from my X-box 360 using my computer.

So I am new here and hope someone can give me some help on figuring this out. I'm looking to do what a lot of other people are doing - recording game play, commenting on it, and posting on youtube.

But the question is, how do I do this?

What I have is a cord for my X-Box 360 that allows me to play games using my computer monitor. I then have a video splitter that this cord is plugged into which allows me to switch video feeds from my 360 to the PC with the push of a button.

My PC isn't spectacular but it works well enough. 1tb of memory (some space used of course), a GeForce GTS 250 video card, and then I have 6gb of ram. The computer model is an HP Pavilion P6000 series, processor is an AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 830 processor (2800mhz, 4 cores).

I'd like to know what would be the best option(s) for me to use for doing this?

You'll want to buy a decent video capture card, you basically plug the xbox 360 into the capture card and the capture card into your TV. This allows you to still play your Xbox on the TV but the picture goes through the capture card. You also plug the capture card into your PC to control the capture card, with its supplied drivers/software.

Here's a review showing some good capture cards: https://www.ezvid.com/top-5-portable-capture-cards

Capture cards are however quite expensive, especially if you want to record good quality video at HD resolutions.
