So I have a motherboard going back for a RMA with MSI right now and I was told refurbished usually comes back in better shape then it was cause they fix anything that was wrong.

So I started to think, would it be good to buy refurbished motherboard? you could get a top of the line board for half the cost. Of course there is the risk of no returns if it actually breaks while you have it.

I would love of them nice EVGA or ASUS boards that cost way to much, but a refurbished one the price is good lol.

I don't think buying something that failed and had to be repaired to get it to work is a good selling point. The product obviously failed one already and the warranty will be going from 1-3 years to days or weeks. If it's going for weeks instead of years do you think that is because the manufacturer has more faith in it that it won't fail again? But if you want to try it I only got one thing to say. Sure go for it, and I got some beach front property in Nevada I'd like to sell you.
