I currently am running a system with a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 Ghz edition 2GB video card
and am thinking of purchasing a Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 4GB card to run in Crossfire mode and have done a bit of research on here and other sites saying that I can be successful without any problems. My processor is AMD Phenom II X4 955BE slightly overclocked to 3.6Ghz from the standard 3.2 Ghz with 8GB's of Kingston Hyper Fury X Ram 1600 Mhz in a Asus R.O.G. Crosshair 3 mobo. I welcome all responses. Thanks.

TL;DR yes you will be just fine, just like a cfx with the 280x and a 7970/7950

yes, same thing as cfx a 280x with a 7970 or 7950, the GB difference i believe will revert to the lower of the two cards as will the clock speed, but i do not think the 270x has quite enough power to push 4GB and make efficient use of it, like the 280x 6GB card is not worth it because it cannot push the use of all 6GB very well becaues it just its powerful enough.

I totally agree Jdogz427. Been building some gaming rigs for a while now and just wanted another Graphics card authority on here to confirm what I assumed I could do. Thanks...much appreciated.
