Blinking HP symbol on my laptop.

I have an HP DV7-6135DX that will not come on. When I plug the charger into it, the HP Symbol on top of it just flashes, and so does the light right next to the ac adapter. I've tried googling the problem, but the only thing that has come close is when the capslock and numlock buttons flash, which is not happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard that when this happens that there is either a problem with your AC adaptor or the AC jack on your laptop, but it's most likely the AC adaptor.

What you can do is Remove the battery and then hold the power button for 10 seconds, then try again with the battery. You can also try to do this and then try to start it without the battery in the laptop. The last thing you can do is just get another AC adaptor this should resolve the issue. Also check that the fans can spin freely and are not blocked/clogged. But if none of these methods work then it's probably something inside the laptop causing a short (screw, bug, anything small) inside on the motherboard OR your AC port has seen the best of life. You could try to have the AC port repaired, but have all other parts checked out first (might be a faulty part as well).

Ty, I know the charger is good, because it works on another HP. I've taken it all apart, down to the MB, and everything looks ok, no burnt marks or corrosion build up. So I guess my best and cheapest bet is to try a new ac jack.

Is it a new Laptop? Did it boot before?

Is the white light around the power jack glowing?

Its actually a white light on top of the laptop. I've already got it taken apart, so I'm going to go ahead and order a new ac adapter, put that in and see if that works. The white light is in the shape of the HP in a circle and the light is behind it.

Didn´t get an answer from you, so I just ask again:

1. Is it a new Laptop? Did it boot before?

2. Is the white light around the power jack glowing or blinking? The other light next to the dc plug, as you said is blinking, but that behavier is not documented. On other HPs it means, a short is on the motherboard. Examine the DC jack of the laptop.

3. Is the power supply the original one for the HP DV7-6135DX with 19Volt and at least 90Watt?

4. Is the battery light blinking? Near HDD light.
