Just built a new PC, and I am completely wiped for cash. I have an external CD/DVD drive that connects with USB. Would that work for the initial boot-up and running the disk that came with the motherboard?

Solution

There is a chance. I would have to say it would. Just put the CD in and go to the BIOS then boot options. If it says the cd drive is there then I guess you have your answer :p Do you have a 4GB or more USB drive? Just install it with that. It's especially easy with windows 7.

Do I need to install an OS first before installing the drivers that came with the motherboard?
