Hey guys

So these past few days I have been struggling with a slow pc it usually takes 10 seconds to boot took 10 minutes the other day, also when it did boot I clicked start and it just sat there loading for minutes, thankfully its not that slow all of the time.

Anyway I have done a lot of recording, editing and rendering on this rig which usually takes up most of the ram and cpu, I attempted to render a video in sony vegas pro and it often displayed a warning message to prevent information loss saying your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close this program.

So I don't get what this means exactly. But I ended up buying some memory anyway because I had some spare cash this month, I bought myself 16GB, also since I have 8gb currently and always wanted to upgrade, so this brings new questions how can I ensure that this isn't some sort of memory leak and that it isnt going to quickly fill my 16GB ram, how is it that my current 8gb has run out of memory? When I tried to render the video last night I had task manager open and the ram stayed under 80% and was sitting at 39% while idle.

Also I just saw people have had compatibility issues with ram, I just assumed ram was the only thing that you can throw in any machine as long as the mobo can handle the amount, well I bought the HyperX FURY Series 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 1866MHz CL10 DIMM Memory
So im wondering if its compatible with my mobo, I did check the mobo specs and it seems it only supports from 1333 to 1600MHz but I'd like to make sure this is correct before I upgrade my mobo too.

My Specs:
Intel core i5-4430 @ 3.0GHz
Gigabyte H87M-HD3
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Corsair Enthusiast 750W PSU
Samsung 840 Evo 250GB (OS and programs)
Samsung 840 Evo 500Gb (Games)
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD (Recording)
Nvidia Windforce GTX 780 3GB OC
Corsair Carbide 300R Case (windowed)
Xonar D1 Sound Card

Sorry for the amount of questions, Thanks in advance.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro

Check whether your system has a large enough pagefile allocation. It should be atleast equal to your total memory size.
Here's how to do it step by step
Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Setting (in the left pane) -> Click the "advanced" tab -> You will see a performance section, where you must click the "settings" tab -> Choose the "advanced" tab -> you will see a "virtual memory" option where you must select the "change" tab -> Choose the first option saying "Automatically manage paging file....." ->click "apply" -> reboot.
See if your problem is solved.

Oooh my current paging file size was set to 200 - 1024MB.
Restarting now.
Edit: Currently rendering, never got to 3% before, but now I'm currently at 20% so it's definitely improved. I will select you for best answer if I get no more issues today :)
