So I was basically learning for my tests tomorrow and accidentally spilled some coffee over my K70. It seemed to be fine for the first couple seconds, but when I unplugged it and cleaned the keys/underneath the keys and plugged it back in it didn't connect/work anymore.

I had an airduster lying around and tried to blow the coffee out of the keyboard for as far as it wasn't already out. Connected it again and still didn't work.

At the moment I put it next to the heater (not on/ so close that it will overheat), I will put it into a bowl of rice later on tonight (don't have the rice atm).

Is there anything else I can do to increase chances of it ever working again? Paid €130 for it and it's not even one month old :l (ironically my Sharkoon Skiller survived several spills and it's the keyboard I am using at the moment to type this :) )

Please help! Kind regards,

BnG

Unfortunately, because the K70 is mechanical it has a lot more internal circuitry and therefore is lot more chance to damage with liquid. If it doesn't work after thoroughly drying it then it is most likely dead.

Damnit, the hard truth is that I'm afraid you are right :l. Would be a shame to see €130 go down the drain because of a frickin' cop of coffee worth a couple cents :3. Making a custom cup holder for sure !

Those are about the only things I can think of. Covering it in rice (preferably opened up so the rice can get in and soak up any residue) will hopefully work. Make sure to give it a good 12-24hrs though. It might be a pain getting all the rice grains out (they get everywhere). Hopefully it works for you, that's a bummer about the spill. Some keyboards handle spills better than others. Murphy's law, of course it wasn't the old kb to take the potentially fatal spill.

True, if Corsair fails me this time (would be the 1st time) I am going for a cheaper keyboard. I loved the mechanical clicks, but hell it's not worth the €130 if it breaks that easily :l (I know it is my fault, but I was hoping for a more durable keyboard for €130 as the Skiller survived several "floods" :p)
