About a week ago, I updated from GTX 660 to GTX 970 which sure is a pretty nice bang for the buck and all in all a very powerful GPU. However, I can already see it performing on full load during the last Dragon Age maxed out (no AA), not to mention the recently discovered split VRAM modules.
Which brings me to a question: will it be able to get me a good performance (60fps@1080p) in the upcoming game titles? (Witcher 3, Star Citizen, GTA V etc.).
I was thinking of refunding the 970 and getting some other card. But then I realised that 970 is propably the only viable option for my 500$ budget.
290X - pretty nice but gets beaten by 970 already
780ti - sick performance but out of my budget
980 - too, out of my budget and ,IMO, overpriced (starts at 611$ in my country)
380x - not out yet

So, what do you guys think would be a good move here?
Stay put with 970 and then SLI when the situation demands? (note that it only has 3.5GB high-speed VRAM)
Bite the bullet and get 780ti/980?
Or wait for the 380x release, which is still pretty far away. (I would have to refund the 970 now to get the full price back so I would be aprox. 3 months with my old 660)
