I'm pretty sure i have the sound blaster recon3di

Pretty much last night my microphone wasn't working on my laptop. so i proceeded to try and fix it. installed some drivers and restarted my laptop etc etc etc. i got the mic to work. now today i went on my laptop and bam! no sound any more. My sound card does not show up in device manager nor does it show up dxdiag. i have tried to restore from a backup that was made before i installed the drivers for the microphone. When go to the sound window where my audio devices usually are, the only thing that shows up is my monitor for some reason. even in the recording tab nothing shows up. In my device manager tab it only shows Intel(R) display audio, NVidia Virtual Audio Device. When i try and download the creative labs audio drivers and install them, it tells me that it is unable to detect a supported product on my system. which is a bunch of horse poo because it was working last night. Any Help?

Solution
Try going into Device manager and uninstalling the audio drivers from there... then restart computer... sometimes when you have a bad driver installed... they get stuck in there need to be forcibly removed... I've had sound driver problems where a regular uninstall wouldn't work... and had to use Device Manger to do it manually.
