Hello!

My problem is that after I reinstalled windows 8.1, my internet got really slow. I messed around in the driver settings and got it fast enough to access internet, but it's still very slow. The videos wont load at all.

Specifications:
MSI GE70 2OE Notebook

Network adapters:
HUAWEI Mobile connect - Network card (My internet stick)
Relatek RTL8723AR Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

I dont know what to do anymore.

I would go to the windows control panel, find the device and make sure it is not stuck in a low power mode. At low power the system saves power by reducing the power to the antenna. This can really drop the rate of transmission (to maybe 10 or 1%)

find the device in control panel device management and right click and set it to max performance. I would reboot and retest to see if it is better.

it could also be a sleep bug in the driver, it goes to sleep and drops the power down but does not kick it back up when requested. That can be a BIOS bug or driver bug.

Did you install all the latest drivers from the MSI website for it?

If the main thing that is slow is the Internet, download the free home version of inSSIDer (a wifi analyzer) from HERE, run it and check the network tab for strong signals by channel that may be interfering with you. That can be a significant issue if you are near other networks.

I think I should specificated what I told in the post a little more. This is not the wifi problem I'm having. I dont know yet if I have wifi problems. I'm just not that big of a tech knower, so not sure how to specificate such stuff the right way on the first try.

The latest drivers are installed just like before the reinstall.

The Huawei Mobile connect is a mobile broadband. It has a sim card in it and you can use the card in phones too if you want. It looks like this

On another notice, It was fine when I installed it. I left the steam install games for the night and when I woke up, I restarted the pc and thats when the problems started.
