What things do i backup before installing a new windows 8 after a using a windows 8 OEM?

i have a HP desktop PC with windows 8 OEM, i want to upgrade the motherboard, i know that i cannot run my windows 8 OEM after installing a new motherboard and that i will have to buy a new copy of windows 8, i just want to know a few things 1) what things do i need to backup (such as games, settings and other things)? 2) i have a copy of Microsoft office 2010 that i have installed do i need to re-install it when i change the motherboard?, any help with be greatly appreciated, if there are any other things i should know before installing a new windows 8 please let me know, as that i just want to continue using my PC as it was just with a new motherboard, thank you

Okay, if you are changing out your motherboard then you need to backup everything you want to keep. Game saves (not the game itself), pictures, music, important documents and the like. Keep in mind that if you keep the original hard drive(s) you will not be able to use them with the new motherboard until you reformat them. If you don't want to click and drag files to the backup drive then you can get a Seagate Backup Plus and it will run you through a tutorial and you decide what you want to backup and it will do it for you. These are available in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, 3TB, 4TB, and 5TB.

One way to prevent having to reformat the drives later would be to utilize a RAID Controller to plug the hard drives into instead of the motherboard directly. The Controller would take up a PCI slot next to your graphics card and/or wifi card if you have one.
