Hi.

There are two laptops being used. With laptop1, I want to transfer files/folders to laptop2 via WIFI.
Laptop2 is used by a friend in the same apt building(we both share the same wifi login connection).
However, (for whatever reason) there maybe times when my friend's laptop2 is powered down.

Question:
Are there network/file settings (we can set) or software available where I am able to transfer files having the receiving laptop offline?
Can it be sent to a staging area and picked up when laptop2 is booted up?
Ideally, we want to see each other's network drive & upload files when online.

PS: Our WIFI connection is supplied by the apt building. We have no access to their router.

Thanks.
TC.

Solution
Only something like DropBox would do that. Or a universally accessible NAS or other local server box.
You can't transfer data, via whatever means, to a PC that is 'off', or 'offline'.

A shared folder, however, might allow that. Copy the data to a folder that is also shared with the other PC. When that comes online, they can see that folder and whatever new data is in it.

The above is correct.

I'm not aware of an easy to to AUTOMATICALLY transfer files, though an online "Dropbox" method might work if you can setup both people to have full access and auto SYNCH to their own folders.

It's a bit messy however if not good good with computers.

I'm not sure why you'd need this on a regular basis but perhaps just walk over with a USB thumb drive periodically?
