I have been slowly upgrading my computer over the past few years on quite a tight budget meaning I never really get the parts I want, and have to make do with what I could afford at the time. I have a bit more money now and am looking to upgrade my graphics card (and possibly my motherboard if I can get any suggestions)

My budget for the card is around the £250 mark and i have been looking at the R9 290 and the GTX 970 and was wondering which would be advised. Or if any other cards around that price range are better value for money?

As for the motherboard I have no clue where to start, i currently have a and would appreciate someone a bit more seasoned to help me out, i currently have a micro atx build but would go bigger. I don't really want to spend more than £120 and would happily spend less if possible.

Link to PC spec at bottom.

Thanks, Danny

For the USD equivalent of about $370, you can get a R9 290x which is a fair amount more powerful in terms of actual calculations. What this means is that you can bitcoin mine quite well, if you want to, and, it will make a very nice graphics card for gaming, as it can max just about anything. Also, lately, there is an XFX 290x, that is about $320, without rebate, such a card is a steal.

Give me your budget?
