Hello,
I am kinda getting bored with my games and I just want to find a game that has a good story that I can play. I'm currently playing Bioshock: Infinite but I need a game after that because I'm almost done with it. What games have a really good single player story?
Thanks in advace!

Outside of FPS, then, a "short" list of single player games I've thoroughly enjoyed:

RTS: Homeworld 1 (remastered version will be out soon), starcraft 1 and 2

Turn Based: X-com: Enemy Unknown (Or the original, UFO Defense if you're feeling hardcore), Civilization (any of the numbered series + Alpha Centauri)

RPG: Star wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights 1, 2, Wizardry 8, South Paark: Stick of Truth, Bard's Tale, Cthulu Saves the world, Planescape: Torment

Point & Click adventure: +1 on Grim Fandango, The Longest Journey, Monkey Island 1, 2, 3, Deponia Series, Gone Home (technically first person)

Puzzle platformer: Braid, Fez, Limbo, Trine (1&2), Gunpoint

Platformer...
Just in the FPS genre, or any genre?

As far as great single player FPS games, I recommend Dishonored, Fallout 3/New Vegas, any of the Metro 2033 series, any of the Stalker series, Borderlands 1/2. I'd probably recommend Far Cry 3/4, but I haven't personally played them yet (sitting in my steam library right now >.<)

I have played the Borderlands, Fallout, Far Cry, ect. games. I don't have a limit on FPS or not I just don't like top down view games. I do like shooters and stuff but they get old after some time. I just want to try something new. You know? I have also played the Metro games as well.

I'll give the Dragon Age games a try. I've played Skyrim as well.

Good choice...dragon age is best to start from the first one but I have to say that the last one inquisition is by far the best one out of all of them also try assassins creed black flag that one is pretty fun just remember with the dragon age games don't cheat or use any trainers it really ruins the whole game

Do they have to be new/modern games?
If not go back and play some of the classics. Sam and Max hit the road and Day of the Tentacle are great point and click adventures. Parasite Eve 1 and 2 are great shooter RPGs from the PS1. Then you have your original RPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragons Quest, Star Ocean are some of my favourite along with the Tales of "X" series. Deus Ex and its newer Human Revolution are great, along with the original Half Life. Oh forgot Mass Effect games, and Metal Gear Solid series.
Bastion is a great indie game too, along with child of light.

- All of Telltales games since The Walking Dead: Season One have been good, if you follow any of those series its definitely worth picking up.
- Dark Souls I and II, so good. If your willing to take the time to read item descriptions and think on the lore they provide, they actually have a very good story and world that a casual player will never see (or just cheat and watch VaatiVidya's stuff). That and the gameplay itself is great, you pretty much need a controller though.
- The Witcher 2. I'l admit I couldnt get into this game, but I can tell that its a good game even so.
- Transistor, serious GOTY 2014 contender. Again, a deep story if you take the time to think and read.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGMWL8cOeAU ] An exceptional soundtrack to boot. [/url]

Platformer: Psychonauts, Rayman Legends or Origins, Spelunky, Guacamelee, Super Meat Boy, La-Mulana

Puzzle: World of Goo, crayon physics deluxe

3rd person Action/RPG: Dark Souls 1, 2, Deus Ex: Human revolution (or the original!), Mass Effect

Isometric Action RPG:, Bastion, Torchlight, Path of Exile (technically an MMO, but easily played single player)

Survival Horror: Amnesia: The Dark descent....I love horror games. IMHO this is the best horror game ever made. No other horror game has come close to scaring me as much (except the original alone in the dark, but I was 13 at the time and it hasn't held up well over the years). Most of the other decent ones rely on jump scares. This is the only game I've ever needed scotch to finish.

Oh, and I'm assuming you've already played portal 1 & 2. If not, start there.

Cheers!
