How to fix weird watermark on desktop? (Try number 2!)

Hello everyone!

I have recently asked a question on how to fix a weird box on my desktop that I cannot get to go away. Here is a link to the original post:

I thought the issue was fixed, but I have noticed that the boxes have came back! I was going to try and re-open the original but could not find away to do so. There are pictures and a brief description in the original post.

I have noticed that whenever I hit the "Show Desktop" button my icons and gadgets flash and the square will go away. However, when I press the button again, the box will come back up. Does anyone have an idea on how I could fix this issue?

Any advice is much appreciated!

Very odd. This is nothing I have ever seen. I would get a hold of microsoft directly.

It could also be your monitor. I know some of your symptoms kind of make it seem like it would not, but I do not think it can be ruled out yet. Also try another cable. Also, are the squares just on the background of your wallpaper? They do not show up in games do they?

The repeated squares are just the background, and it does not show up on any games. I have recently put in a new GPU and am using two monitors. The square will only show up on the monitor with the toolbar. Whichever monitor gets the toolbar, gets the box. This leads me to believe that it is not the monitor because it will show up on either.

Just me thinking out loud:
I have used Universal Theme Patcher to allow me to use non-Microsoft themes. I have, however, checked other themes (Microsoft and third party) and the all do show the box.

I believe I have solved the issue! I have gotten rid of Universal Theme Patcher and the box has seemed to go away (I hope!). I am going to give it some time to be sure it doesn't come back. I will get back in a few days and solve this page if the problem does not come back!
