Ok so, for Christmas i received a new motherboard, the GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P,, i checked the compatibility before hand and my CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 (currently im unable to get the exact model but when i check multiple times it was compatible) and my Graphics card (GTX 650 TI) were both compatible. So i install my new motherboard only to find that my power unit doesnt have an 8pin connector, so i order a 12v 8 pin adapter only to find that my cpu fan doesnt move except perhaps 1cm every 10 seconds and i get no display. So what i do next is order a new cable which has different power adapters to connect to the 8pin only to find the same result, so i unplug the 8 pin and i still get the same problem, no display and the cpu fan will hardly move. At this point i have no idea what to do next since i have tried over 6 times and spent over 15 hours trying to sort my problem. So my question is, what do i do to fix this?

Note: I also have new RAM but it is also compatible, my power unit should have more than enough power with an output of 550
