So, I currently have x2 HD6970's in Xfire. I wanted to upgrade my GPU's because well, for one, I'm just sick of AMD's driver issues. I am having so much trouble with CCC and I'm over it. Anyway, After looking around and catching back up on current technology, I have decided it might be in my best interest to wait for the GTX980Ti since it'll be coming out pretty soon. My question is if I will have to upgrade any other hardware pieces so that I don't experience bottle-necking. My components:

i7-3770K @ 4.6GHz {water cooled}
ASRock Z77 Fatality
G.Skill Ripjaw X 16GB @1866
840 PRO SSD's
850w PSU

Any other specs anyone might need to better make their decision please ask. Thank you in advance!

Solution
The rest is all good.
You could consider GTX 970 cards in SLI, but SLI can have compatibility issues like Xfire.
Make sure you uninstall CCC before removing the card, then install the Nvidia card and install their latest drivers.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking back when I had GTX 290"s in SLI and never had a problem. Nvidia is far better when it comes to driver support IMO so that's why I was thinking that maybe eventually get GTX980Ti in SLI once drivers start coming out. Cheers!

good choice, i stay away from amd now because of the ccc software and poor drivers. i have 2 780 tis in sli and the only issue i have is that it takes a few weeks sometimes for drivers that support sli profiles for new games
