I live in New York and the air is cold and dry which causes a lot of unavoidable static, here are the event that occurred before/during the issue.
As I rolled around in my chair to grab something i discharged static my headphones. According to my friend my USB mic began making horrible static sounds, so i unplugged it and plugged it back in. Immediately after i try to move my mouse, i notice both my peripherals are off and after a few seconds, my computer shuts down and boots back up.
It boots to the 'American Mega-trends' screen, displaying the USB devices i have connected and soemthign about corrupted files. I didn't quite catch it in my panic. The computer shut off and restarted into my desktop. Is the issue a motherboard issue? A hard drive issue? How do i proceed?
