Hey all,

I have 2 x 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport. They say that they run at 1600MHz, but when I looked at the info in BIOS a few minutes ago it showed that their base speed was 1333 and that they were running at 1439. I am guess because of some OC that my mobo is doing on its own, I have an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0. I dont necessarily care if the mobo is doing its own overclocking, but shouldnt it be starting at the memorys base 1600 and not 1333? Any ideas?

It also depends on the CPU you are using. The following link is to the ASUS specifications page which contains the following two lines

"4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866*/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory"
Checking out the * after DDR3 1866 shows this:
"* Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz."

@thx1138v2 I am running an FX-8350 (4.0GHz, 8-core)
Newegg and ASUS site both say will support up to 1866

@Tradesman1 What is DOCP/where would I find that? Is that something that would show up if the mobo is currently ocing itself?
