I am looking to build an extreme gaming pc capable of running in my 2k monitor.I currently have i5 but i would prefer i7 in that build.
My friend who owes an i7 had a problem with i7 when he was playing some high end games on his rig;his system got heated up and smoked the whole system. That was an incident that happened with my friend and no one would like that.So more emphasis is on keeping the system as cool as possible.
Thanks and I hope to get some nice COOL builds.

It has to be in budget though. "I have an OS,keyboard, ssd, hdd, mouse and a monitor." is what you should have said before.

first is budget, people can throw a good setup but might end up too much (or too low) for your budget.

also, i7 does not guarantee a good gaming experience. a good gpu should be paired to a good cpu.
about cooling, it's weird that his system got fried like that. cpu's should not get burned that easily (unless maybe the psu is the culprit)
even if it overheats, it should shutdown automatically

there are lots of cooling solutions, so don't worry
