New build won't turn on after installing drivers

Finally got my final component this morning, I installed and and switched my PC on. It lived! I was so happy. I installed Windows, tried to connect to the internet to update drivers etc. Couldn't do it. I figured it could be the LAN driver, so I tried installing that from the disc provided with my mobo (and I installed a few other drivers too). So I plopped the disc in, and let it install while I went to town. I got home, found my PC off, but a light on the front was flashing. Since then it hasn't turned on (and the light has stopped too). Pressing the on button literally does nothing. Everything is plugged in and switched on, I've double checked the wires inside. What could be the problem?

Intel Core i5 4440
MSI H81M-P33
Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C11 XMS3 2x4GB
XFX Pro Series 450w

switch off the psu (either on the PSU or at the wall) - do not unplug.
press the power button a few times to discharge the transformer/capacitor on it.
switch the power back on and try booting.

I'm not guaranteeing this will work, but on some dell PCs (laptops in particular cos of the constant power) driver updates would sometimes cause this to happen. removing the power and discharging would almost always fix it, so I'd say its worth a try.

Also if you left it for a few hours unplugged the same thing would happen.

Hasn't worked. :( How many times do I need to do this? I pressed the button on and off 10 times.

2-3 time should be enough.

If that hasn't worked...

Try flashing the BIOS. instructions for this should be in the Mobo manual.

If that doesn't work, more drastically; - disconnect and reconnect everything remove and replace everything. You can either do this one thing at a time or all at once. should be able to leave the CPU in place though.

otherwise something has died...

Would flashig the BIOS affect my warranty? I don't want to if it would. :(

I unplugged everything except the CPU, I guess that means it's probaly the mobo or PSU? Could it be the CPU?

I tested the PSU with a paperclip. Worked.
Taking everything out of the case, installing only the CPU and fan plus the two power connectors, then shorting the pins does not work.

Is there some way I can 100% guarantee that the motherboard died before I return it? I don't want to be out of pocket.

problem is there is no way of knowing that its the mobo, might be the cpu, ram or even the PSU.

do you have anyone you know who is a PC enthusiast or tech specialist? they are likely able to test the parts for you...
