Hello everyone

Title pretty much sums it up. I have put a new graphics card GeForce GTX650 into a desktop PC and plugged it all in. Fan spins up, but there is no output from it. There are 4 outputs, 2xDVI, 1xHDMI and 1xVGA.

At this moment, all I have access to is a VGA monitor, so am using VGA. When I turn the machine on, no output from the card or the on board graphics (as usual). If I unplug the power to the card, I get on board graphics output, and if I then plug the card in, I can still get on board output (even after restarting several times) until I plug the cable back into the card, then we go back to square one and there is no output from any of them. No bios comes up etc. The machine is on Windows 8.

I have the driver disk, but it tells me it can't install as it there is no device plugged in (which there is). I suppose it could be a faulty card, but it worked fine in the previous owner's desktop...

Any help or suggestions hugely appreciated.

Thank you

T

Well it's on Windows 8, so can't access the bios, can I? And now, I'm not getting any output at all from either

EDIT: Managed to access the BIOS, but the option to disable on board is greyed out
