I'm currently using a Laptop, which seems to be greatly underperforming, the issue is greatly increased when using an additonal monitor (Mainly used to watch video game streams). I feel like i've looked everywhere for a solution, but i can't seem to find any.
I have updated all my drivers and set my graphic settings to always use high performance NVIDIA GPU.

Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4800MQ CPU @2,70 GHZ (4 cores)
Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
(Not sure if you need more?)

The main problem is using my extra monitor which just seems to overheat my CPU and drop my FPS.
But It also feels quite slow even without running the extra monitor.

It's very frustrating and i've looked everywhere to find an answer, but i've failed... I might just be bad at Google

Any tips/tricks or even just attempts to help will be greatly appreciated :)

I use a HDMI connection, however according to my Nvidia management both my screens are connected to the Intel GPU

Sadly, most laptop hardware is built where all video outputs are connected to the graphics processor on the CPU rather than the GPU. ...it's ridiculously stupid, I agree, but check the manufacturer's page about that laptop and see whether the outputs are connected to the CPU or the GPU.
