Hi
emm, other people also said that i can use chkdsk /r ?
is that going to do anything ?
this is what the guy say
writing zeros puts 0s across all sectors, making the drive practically impossible to read or to recover data from (in some cases, even for data recovery companies). This action could fix some software (logical) bad sectors, but not the hardware ones. Do have in mind that this is a long process, it cannot be reversed and it erases all data on the drive.
You do not need to perform Writing Zeros on your drive in order to run a checking program on it.
chkdsk /r does not write zeros and has nothing to do with full erase. It checks the drive for errors (bad sectors and clusters), reads data if possible and reallocates it, and isolates those sectors, but it does NOT write or erase anything from the drive. Here's some more info on this:

Yes, this is true. I don't think you are dealing with a hardware issue either. You can try running chkdsk /r on the HDD indeed. It won't erase the data. But it also is not a 100 % sure solution to the issue. This command locates bad sectors and recovers readable data, it also checks for physical disk errors. However, you don't have any bad sectors to recover, but of course, you should still try it. It's going to take some time as well, so don't be impatient with it.
Keep me posted!

so the chkdsk /r is checking for physical problems ?
does the chkdsk takes a long time like extended test?
if i dont do the chkdsk /r test,
and only do the write zero's, can it be fixed to 0 again ?
because the guy said this
'As I said, a bad sector cannot be fixed. It's a hardware problem, a physical damage which cannot be fixed by a software, hence, the pending current sector will not be reduced. It will increase in time.'
but what my understanding is
At first my pending current sector count is 1
But then after i backup my data
There is one file cannot be copied
The name is data1.bin
So i retry it maybe for 3 times , i dont remember
After that i skip it
And after the backing up is done
My pending current sector become 4
And today i backup the rest of my data
And theres no file cannot be copied
And i checked the pending sector , its still 4
isnt that mean its not a hardware / physical problem ?
because everytime i retry to copy a file that cannot be copied, the number of pending sector is increased?
