Hi guys. I want to uninstall Windows 8.1 and everything else from my boot drive which is a Samsung 840 Evo 120gb SSD. The reason is because I want to install Windows on an M2 SSD that I just got and use it as boot drive while keeping the Samsung EVO for gaming.

My problem is that I have never done anything remotely similar and I don't know how to pull this off. I don't know how to format the SSD. Can someone explain to me step-by-step on what to do and guide me on the right direction?

Thanks, everyone.

First and most important - DO NOT erase, delete, or uninstall anything from your 840 EVO until after you have installed Microsoft Windows, applications, and/or games to your new M.2 ssd. Make sure you are satisfied that your new ssd is operating satisfactorily before doing anything to the 840 EVO.

You will need to do perform a "secure erase". The feature will erase all data on the 840 EVO and make it like new.

Since you have a Samsung 840 EVO just use the secure erase feature that is included in the Samsung SSD Magician utility. Just follow the instructions. It is easy to do.
