WD My Passport Ultra USB is not working.

Is there anything I can buy to allow me to bypass the usb connection on the drive to access the information? Moisture got on the cable, when I plug it in it works on and off. I just want to copy the data off!!! Please help? Thank you in advance for any advice that might help.

Hi there Dreadzz,

The first thing you should do is to let the port dry out before trying to connect it. I would advise you to try connecting your WD My Passport with another USB cable as well.
You shouldn't take the drive out of the enclosure because it is hardware encrypted. This means that the data can be accessed only if the drive is inside the enclosure.
If the before mentioned things do not help, then most probably something got seriously damaged(USB/PCB board). In this case your safest be of recovering your data is to contact a data recovery company. Also, some users order exactly the same drive(serial number, capacity, etc.) and try to put the drive with stored data in the new enclosure. Though, you can really be sure whether...
