A friend recently made a silly blunder and ordered an intel Mobo and an AMD CPU and is looking to offload his non-compatible CPU while he orders an Intel one.
My question is whether or not I can put his CPU in to my MOBO without any other upgrading. As I said in the subject my MOBO is AM3 Compatible but not sure if the CPU listed as AM3+ is too powerful for my aging MOBO.

I have pretty much maxed out all the upgrades I can do on this MOBO to keep it in the game, and still happy with its performance with the help of my 7700 HD series Video card, but this CPU is dangling in front of my face and I couldnt figure out the top end of my MOBO.
Since this original system build is over 6 years old now I cant complain.
