Which WD HDD is better and more reliable?

Solution
Hey there, Eclipsion!

It really depends on what you are planning to use the HDD for.
Both drives are good and reliable solutions for your system.
However, the Black as mentioned has a 5-year warranty period. Besides that, this HDD is specifically designed for delivering high performance in PCs working with demanding applications like video editing software and games.
While the WD Blue is a solid performance drive for everyday computing, it is also a pretty reliable choice.
It might be confusing for you because the 1TB versions of both drives overlap in specs, but put them side-by-side and the WD Black would out-perform the WD Blue.

The black series has a much higher warranty of 5 years vs 2 years, and black is usually more reliable and the company has more confidence in their drives obviously showed by the warranty, but one on one they don't have too much of a difference. If you have extra money for reliability, go for Black, the blue will still do it's job though.
