Hello so i bought a g1 gaming 970 and it kicks ass. But i notice that when i go to play games it makes a buzzing noise when im playing. Now i dont think its coil whine because for example when i play skyrim the noise changes when i pause and unpause the game. Its not a bad noise it gets drown out by my fans In the pc but it is noticeable if youre listening for it. I already replaced the card because i thought it was coil whine but it makes the same noise. Id return it again but im pretty sure its going to be the same. I heard most high end cards make noises like this. The noise can be compared to like the sound a refrigerator makes when its trying to cool down but not as loud its barely noticeable At least i think it does. And im pretty sure its a constant sound. Any help would be appreciated. Could it be my psu? I use a cx600m. For reference my r9 270 msi edition gpu didnt emit the sound the 970 is making and my pc sits next to my monitor on my desk

Solution
what make u sure it's not coil whine? try monitor the fps..

AFAIK coil whine happen when at high fps (100fps++),
there is a chance u get a (RMA) card also have coil whine problems..

looks like coil whine is acceptable / can ignored by GPU manufacture standard

I have a Z170 motherboard, but the only problem have encountered so far is a buzzing sound coming from the GTX 980 have installed and it only happens when the GPU is under 'heavy' load from GPU 'intense' applications.
