should i overclock my i7 with these temps?

Hi everyone, I have a i7 920 and a corsair h60 hydro cooler. I want to overclock my cpu but i just tested the temperatures with realtemp and prime95 and after half an hour one of the cores was at 78c. Is that logical? should i procced with the overclocking?

OCCT also uses Prime95, in addition to Linpack. Also, the OP is using an aftermarket cooler. Please read his first post.

Intel's Thermal Specification, which is "Tcase", is 67.9C, but there's 5C more headroom than that.

Is your i7 920 a "C0" Stepping Revision or a "D0"? If you're not sure, then please run CPU-Z.

What is your ambient temperature?
