What speed will i get if I used a 3.0 usb external HDD to a desktop with a 2.0 usb

You would get USB 2.0 speeds ,minus overhead, minus how crappy the host USB 2.0 controller is in your PC, so whatever USB 2.0 speeds are roughly. Google it.
