I have a Dell inpiron N7010. The laptop turns on with a charged battery but does not charge the battery once the charger is connected. The laptop will not turn on with just the charger connected either. The battery indicator light also does not turn on when I connect the charger (as it should). I know the charger is good because I charge this laptops battery using this charger with another identical laptop. Has anyone had this problem and had it resolved? thank you.

You probably need to replace the AC adapter cable. Does your power cable have an LED on the transformer located in the middle of the cable? Does it turn on when plugged in? There are really only two possibilities. The cable or the power jack inside the laptop.
