I use HWmonitor for temperatures and procexp.exe for RAM, CPU and GPU usage. Both gives you a lot of detail about the current state of your system, and procexp.exe has customisable tray icons.
EDIT: Also, the Win8 task manager is useful if you don't need the info from procexp.exe or custom tray icons.

You can simply open task manager in Windows 8.1 and click on the Performance tab to see this. Or download a 3rd party app.

CleanMem Mini Monitor works well to monitor the RAM usage.
CoreTemp is good for CPU temps and usage.
I am not aware of a single program that works as well as this combo.
