Hey everyone,

I'm using dual-boot of Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7.
I have 3 screens:
1. Dell U2312HM 22"
2. Acer X193W 19"
3. Samsung 711N C 17"

Ports:
1. DVI
2. DVI, VGA
3. VGA

My graphics card has HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort 1.2
Dell connected to HDMI (Screen has DVI with adapter)
Acer connected via DVI
Samsung isn't connected

I wish to connect all the three monitors, so I bought DisplayPort to DVI adapter, in order to connect the Acer with DisplayPort, Samsung with DVI (with adapter) and Dell with HDMI (with adapter).

When connecting this scenario, the DisplayPort doesn't work! not even a signal or something. Tried to connect both Acer and Samsung, didn't work!
The DP-DVI adapter is new, so it's not the adapter.

What can I do?
Thanks.

sorry for the late responce, you cought my during launch time!:)

i dont have a solid answer about your adapter whether it is an active one or not as i cant find it anywhere in the market. however after a closer look

Sapphire HD7770 1xDISPLAY PORT / 1xHDMI / 1xDVI-I

the samsung having only a vga port must be connecter through dvi adapter to DVI-I since it is the only input to carry analog signal. this according to AMD video, it does count as a legacy connection, however HDMI to DVI doesnt.! additionally if the dp to dvi is a passive one it counts as a legacy connection and not as native display

so that leads me to believe that either you cannot use this combination of monitors with your current cables(if the dp to dvi...

also what about your Dell U2312HM? doesnt have dp support?
