Hi all,
This problem just started yesterday.
I'm unable to connect my main PC to my D-Link 3780 router. The PC is hardwired to the Router. The Router's hardwired-connection light is illuminated and Windows reports a stable internet connection. However, when I try to use the internet or when I enter the Router's IP address to bring up the Router's Control Panel - nothing happens.
Google Chrome reports either ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED when I look up a webpage or ERR_FAILED when I type my default gateway IP to bring up the Router's control panel.
Having Windows analyze the Internet Connection reports that there's a DNS problem. I know that problem isn't with the Router or the ISP because the PC I'm currently writing to you on is also connected to the same Router (albeit via WiFi).
I've tried specifying a DNS Server via the Properties window of my Internet Adapter. Same results/
The only slightly odd thing is, when I do Ipconfig my Default Gateway is listed as:
Default Gateway: fe80::1%12
192.168.1.1
I'm not sure if that's indicative of a problem or if it's just IPv6.
My network card's light is blinking slowly and intermittently about twice a second. I've disabled and reenabled the NIC to no avail. Have also disabled and reenabled the Internet Connection and, of course, restarted the Router.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
