I'm trying to build a new gaming desktop for $500 maximum. I want to be able to play Titanfall on ultra or close to it. I have a monitor, and I don't need an OS. I'm buying the parts today so any help would be awesome!

This should run titanfall on ultra. It's 500 bucks after rebates.

Pretty much what Demosthenest says. Yes you may not be able to play ultra due to the CPU, but everything else stands very well. But you can overclock it (it can be dangerous, but it can be worth the risk). If you do want to overclock go get CPU Cooler later on. I reccomend a Cooler Master Hypter 212 EVO. Also a G3258 limits the RAM up to 1400, so you might as well get 1333 to save that extra buck. However, the only thing is I don't see a PSU in there, so I updated it a bit:

If you exclude mail in rebates (and include a power supply...) you get this for $500 which, while a perfectly decent budget gaming rig, is not going to play titanfall on ultra. Definitely very playable at 1080p / high with one or two settings turned down, but not ultra

Spend the 10 extra bucks, it's really worth it. I used to run titanfall on ultra with an i5 2300 and a gtx 660. Obviously, not on 60fps. But playable imo.

Actually that r9 280 is a great deal. But I don't like the G3258.
