Hello all. The other week my old computer died and I have since bought a new one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227593&cm_re=versa_series-_-83-227-593-_-Product). In my old windows 7 computer I had a 2tb HDD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834&cm_re=seagate_2tb_7200-_-22-148-834-_-Product) as storage which contains files and programs I'd still like to access. I've hooked it up in my new windows 8.1 computer (plugged in sata power cable and sata data cable to drive and mobo) but it's not showing up in My Computer or in the device manager under disk drivers.

What do I need to do to remedy this problem and make my old HDD a functional part of my new computer? If anything related to BIOS or configuring the HDD in any way is needed, please provide very detailed step-by-step instructions since my knowledge in those areas are basically nonexistent. Thanks.

Unfortunately I can't test it out in another computer. However, I'm fairly sure the hard drive isn't bad. The problem was most likely a graphics card or motherboard issue, since leading up to this event my display would crash and recover itself a lot. Other components of my computer seemed to run fine.
