Hey, I will just note that I have a stock cooler and no thermal paste; please do not say to get some as I shall when possible!

Now I have said that, I can get to my question. I have an i7 3770k and I am measuring its temperature(s) with MSI Afterburner. AB claims that my CPU jumps 10 degrees within half a second, the temperature constantly updates about 5 times a second, often going from 32 to 45 in a short period. Do these temps seem accurate? It claims my max temp while playing an unoptimised game is 75 degrees celsius. I just wanted to know if the above temps are accurate; it consistently going up and down by 10 degrees celsius or less within a second. While idle AB also claims my max is around 56 degrees celsius which I find hard to believe as my max GPU idle is about 35. Thanks!

Solution
As long as your cpu temps are under 80C you are fine. You have the standard thermal paste on the stock cooler which is sufficient enough for a stock speed i7 3770k. I wouldn't bother replacing it if you reusing your stock cooler unless it has dried up.
Idle temps varies due to different ambient temperature, different environment, different case used etc.. As long your max temps when using your pc is normal, you are fine, you can ignore idle temps. 35C is ok for idle gpu temps. GPU temps under 85C is fine.

Thank you! I'm not concerned about GPU temps at all^^ So my CPU is safe then, it hits 75 max, thanks! Any other suggestions are welcome.
