is my motherboard defected? i plugged in my speakers and no sound is coming out

i made sure it is in the green port since the speakers is green

am i suppose to remove the speaker that came with the motherboard?
you know that speaker where you test if the motherboard works before you put it in the case

Hello,

Be sure you installed all the motherboard's drivers, including the sound drivers. What speakers are you trying to use?

You don't need to disconnect the speaker from the motherboard, as it has nothing to do with the audio card; that speaker is mainly giving POST indications.
