Lg is the only tv other than panasonic with 4:4:4 and 4k @60hz

Will a single 780 6gb be good enough for 4k gaming at 50FPS at least?

Solution

Depends on the game, some you may get really high fps 40-50s, some you may get like 20s. But I don't think that GPU has DP 1.2, does it? I just looked up the specs on like Newegg or something and it doesn't show a DP port. So you won't be able to game 4k@60Hz, only 30Hz.

Nevermind, won't matter if you get a GPU with DP 1.2 because only Panasonic UHD TVs has built in DP 1.2 ports, everyone else is HDMI 2.0. So you would have to get a gtx 970 or 980 to use 4k@60Hz, but as you probably have heard, the 970 has less specs than it appears, so it won't be as good for 4k. So your only option is the gtx 980 or wait for a new kind of GPU like the 390x or 980 ti.

think of it like this, with a 60hz monitor with vsync on, your frames stay at 60fps(unless your hardware cant maintain a constant 60fps) and if you have a 30hz monitor with vsync on your limited to 30fps as well. 30hz=30fps an so on, thats one way to look at it.
